Tami gradulates with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. To quench her thirst for new countries, cultures and people, she backpacks a total of 20 countries within a year.

Tami macht im kanadischen Vancouver ihren Bachelor-Abschluss an der Universität von British Columbia. Um ihren Durst nach neuen Ländern, Kulturen und Menschen zu stillen, bereist sie innerhalb eines Jahres als Backpacker insgesamt 20 Länder.

Impressed by the people she met and the experiences she encountered on her world tour, Tami returns to Vancouver. She first works with the NGO, the Aga Khan Foundation and then the Canadian International Development Agency and then moves to the provincial government of British Columbia as a Trade Representative.

Unter dem Eindruck der Menschen und reichen Erfahrungen, die sie auf ihrer Weltreise sammeln durfte, kehrt Tami nach Vancouver zurück. To her roots: Tami is sent to the province of her ancestors in Guangdong, China to establish a trade office in Guangzou for the Province of British Columbia.

Auf zu den Wurzeln: Tami wird in die Provinz ihre Vorfahren nach Guangzhou in China entsandt, um dort ein Handelsbüro für die Provinz British Columbia aufzubauen.

While preparing for a visit by a Canadian government delegation in Guangzhou, Tami receives an offer to work for the China Hotel, a Marriott-based company – an opportunity she cannot refuse.

Während der Vorbereitung auf den Besuch einer Regierungsdelegation in Guangzhou erhält Tami ein tolles Angebot für das China Hotel zu arbeiten, einem Unternehmen von Marriott, das sie nicht ausschlagen kann.

Continuing to broaden his experiences, Marc moves to Adelaide where he is responsible for Hyatt’s entire catering business at the Adelaide Festival Center.

Um zusätzliche Erfahrungen zu sammeln, geht Marc nach Adelaide. Er ist dort für Hyatt den gesamten Bereich Catering im „Adelaide Festival Center“ verantwortlich.

Just a stone’s throw from Australia is Indonesia where Marc takes over as Director of Food and Beverage at Hyatt Regency Surabaya.

Nur einen Katzensprung von Australien entfernt liegt Indonesien. Hier übernimmt Marc im exotischen Hyatt Surabaya den Posten des Wirtschafts-Direktors.

After 10 years with Hyatt, Marc gets the offer to open the new Westin Hotel in Kuala Lumpur as Executive Assistant Manager. A stylish hotel in the heart of the city’s capital of Malaysia with 450 rooms including „serviced apartments“ and a total of seven food & beverage outlets.

Nach 10 Jahren bei Hyatt, bekommt Marc das Angebot, als Executive Assistant Manager das neue Westin Hotel in Kuala Lumpur zu eröffnen. Das stylishe Grand Hotel im Herzen der Hauptstadt von Malaysia hat 450 Zimmer samt „serviced apartments“ sowie insgesamt sieben Food & Beverage-Outlets, für die er verantwortlich ist.

Together, they decide to accept a proposal from friends who are investing in the launch of a lifestyle food and beverage project and move to Marbella, Spain. A wonderful place with beautiful beaches and the perfect location for a dog – Sabah. He is still part of the family and was “the best dog“ at their wedding.

Gemeinsam beschließen sie, ein Angebot befreundeter Investoren anzunehmen, um im spanischen Marbella ein Lifestyle-Food-and-Beverage-Projekt auf die Beine zu stellen. Was für eine wunderbare Landschaft. Das ist genau die richtige Szenerie für einen Hund – Sabah gehört bis heute zur Familie – und für ihre Hochzeit.

Life is serrendipitous, while in Hong Kong, Marc is reacquainted with old friends from Hyatt. He simply cannot turn down the post of Executive Assistant Manager at the Grand Hyatt Santiago. Off to Chile! In 2007 and 2009, their two daughters are born.

As soon as they arrive in the trendy capital they seize the exciting opportunity to accompany the Guldsmeden Group’s refurbishment and pre-opening of a historic hotel. Together, they open the „Lulu“, the first eco-hotel of the Danish boutique hotel chain which has won several awards for its sustainability. The structural refurbishment and launch of Lulu has provided many insights into opening a hotel in Germany. Their experiences are the beginning steps towards preaparing for their own hotel project.

Kaum in der trendigen Hauptstadt angekommen, ergreifen sie die spannende Möglichkeit, für die Guldsmeden-Gruppe Sanierung sowie Preopening eines historischen Hotels zu begleiten. Gemeinsam eröffnen sie das „Lulu“, das erste Ökohotel der für ihre Nachhaltigkeit mehrfach ausgezeichneten dänischen Boutique-Hotelkette. Und sie bleiben länger, als geplant … schließlich haben sie so Gelegenheit, in Deutschland optimal Fuß zu fassen und sich auf ihr eigenes Hotel-Projekt vorzubereiten.
